Petropavlovsk recognises that it is obliged to protect the health of all its workers and that its staff have a right to operate in a safe working environment. All staff receive health and safety training as part of the initial induction process. Job-specific training is then provided within each department/workplace. Health and safety monitoring and internal inspections of working environments are undertaken to ensure compliance with Russian regulatory requirements.

All of the Group's operating companies are required to have in place health and safety management systems to meet Russian regulatory requirements. The Group is now seeking to integrate Russian compliance-based systems with international best practice.
